The opinions of people are not more important to me than Islam. Laws are laws, rules are rules—if you ignored several warnings then it’s completely your own responsibility for getting punished. Hijab has been a national law in Iran since 1983. And it’s already being very sparsely implemented, most of the time it only results in warnings. But as a singer, you have a responsibility and a position of influence on the youth, so the sentence is harsher for misguiding people. Every country has its own clothing restrictions. You cannot be naked in the West either. The only difference is that Western countries base their restrictions on arbitrary rulings (i.e. the vote of the people & what’s accepted in society) rather than divine legislation.
