🖌 Happy Space Forces Day! Although the professional holiday of the Space Forces was officially established in 2006, its roots go back to the second half of the twentieth century and are timed to October 4, 1957. On that day, the first artificial satellite of the Earth was successfully launched into orbit from the Baikonur cosmodrome, and humanity entered the space age. As a branch of the armed forces, the Space Forces first appeared in 1992, and acquired their modern form after a series of reorganizations in 2015 as part of the Aerospace Forces. Several centers and the "Plesetsk" cosmodrome — the northernmost in the world and the only operational cosmodrome in Europe — are under their command. Today, the Space Forces not only launch their own spacecraft into orbit, but also ensure the control of military and dual-use satellite systems in flight. They are also responsible for monitoring and identifying threats in outer space and warning of missile attacks. On this day, we wish this branch of the armed forces that all launches are successful, and that the constellation of reconnaissance and other satellites continues to grow. They certainly won't be superfluous right now. 📎 High-resolution artwork: Angara Signal Acquired In Orbit #art #Russia #RussianArmedForces #space ✈️ RU | ✈️ EN | ✉️ MAX ✉️ VK | ✉️ RuTube | ✉️ OK | ✉️ Zen 💸Support us Original msg
